The Fauna & Flora International (FFI) is seeking to recruit an individual for the position of Marine Programme Manager, East Africa who will play an important role within the Africa team, providing leadership for the identification and development of new opportunities for marine interventions, focused initially in Tanzania (Pemba channel).
The candidate will work closely with NGO partners, local government and coastal communities in Tanzania, with short term inputs from FFI and external advisers, to design and advance new opportunities for locally-led conservation and participatory marine resource governance (e.g. using the Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) model), livelihoods enhancement and diversification (through sustainable small-scale fisheries and SME/market development), and advocacy to improve policy and practices in marine ecosystems.
